Position Summary The Hospice Aide provides compassionate, hands-on personal care to terminally ill patients in various settings. The aide supports patient comfort, dignity, and safety while adhering to the established plan of care. The role involves direct care tasks, assisting with mobility, and supporting family caregivers, with flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and across different care sites as needed. Essential Functions Provide personal care services in accordance with the plan of care and hospice regulations. Assist with patient ambulation and exercise routines. Perform basic procedures as directed by licensed clinicians. Observe and report changes in the patient’s condition to a licensed nurse. Complete timely and accurate documentation per policy. Educate family or caregiver on proper patient care techniques. Maintain confidentiality of all patient information. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and other required sessions. Complete a minimum of 12 hours of job-specific training annually. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications   Knowledge and Critical Skills Understanding of personal care principles and hospice care standards. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members. Demonstrated ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team. Strong organizational and documentation skills Experience Minimum of six months of relevant experience preferred. Experience in hospice or terminal care strongly preferred. License / Certification Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Florida. Current CPR/BLS certification. Valid Florida driver’s license with acceptable driving record. Education High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Other Requirements Required immunizations and screenings (e.g., TB, Hepatitis, Flu). Clearance for communicable diseases prior to patient contact. Reliable transportation and ability to shift work locations. Accessible contact phone number for scheduling flexibility. Compliance with continuing education and professional development policies.
