Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner

Mechanicsburg, PA Region
Weekday Schedule | No Call | $10K Bonus

If you are an experienced NP in hospice or palliative care and value meaningful patient relationships without after-hours burden, this role offers structured weekday work with strong support systems behind you.

Schedule & Work-Life Balance

  • Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm
  • No weekends
  • No on-call
  • No holiday coverage

For many palliative clinicians, this is the deciding factor.

You can do serious, meaningful care without sacrificing evenings and weekends.

Territory

  • Serving Mechanicsburg, Harrisburg, and surrounding areas
  • This is community-based care in facilities and home settings — not hospital-based rotation .
  • Ideal for someone familiar with Central PA geography.

Compensation & Bonus

  • Salary: $100,000 - $120,000
  • $10,000 first-year bonus
  • 401k with employer match
  • Up to 23 days off in year one

Bonus and PTO structure make this financially steady — not per-visit variable.

Clinical Focus

This is not acute inpatient care.

This is:

  • Managing symptom burden
  • Supporting goals-of-care conversations
  • Coordinating interdisciplinary plans
  • Providing palliative support in community settings

Hospice experience is required.

This role is built for someone who already understands the complexity and emotional depth of serious illness care.

Support Structure (Major Plus)

Unlike many independent community roles, this environment includes:

  • Dedicated schedulers
  • 24/7 after-hours team (so you’re not carrying everything alone)
  • Clinical educators and mentors
  • Tablet and smartphone provided
  • Emotional wellness support resources

For palliative clinicians, emotional support matters just as much as clinical autonomy.

Professional Growth

  • Education support (up to 90% tuition discount programs)
  • Career mobility pathways
  • Preceptor and mentorship opportunities

This is not a dead-end role.

Who This Role Fits Best

This role is ideal for a NP who:

  • Has at least 2 years of clinical experience
  • Has hospice or community-based palliative experience
  • Values structured weekday work
  • Prefers salary stability over per-visit compensation
  • Wants meaningful patient interaction without 24/7 call pressure

If you are currently on heavy call rotation and seeking balance without leaving palliative care, this is worth exploring.

Interview Process

  • HR screen
  • In-person with Hiring Manager
  • Decision within 1–2 weeks
