About the Role:
Join Harmony Hospice Care as a Volunteer and make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients and their families. This is an exciting opportunity to provide compassionate support in a nurturing environment while gaining valuable experience in the healthcare field.
Responsibilities:
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Assist with daily activities, including reading, playing games, or simply listening.
- Help organize and participate in social and recreational activities.
- Offer respite care to family members, allowing them time to recharge.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure patient comfort.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect the dignity of all patients.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
- Document volunteer activities and patient interactions accurately.
Requirements:
- Must be compassionate and empathetic towards patients and families.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Previous volunteer experience in healthcare or hospice preferred.
- Willingness to undergo a background check/drug testing and training.
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Passion for helping others and making a difference in the community.
